EMMELO brings together a diverse, interdisciplinary consortium of academic institutions, research centres, and civil society organisations from across Europe. Our shared mission: to investigate the gendered dynamics of online extremism and develop practical solutions to defend democracy, equality, and social cohesion.
Our strength lies in the unique combination of academic excellence, policy insight, and grassroots connection. EMMELO’s consortium combines strong, interdisciplinary academic expertise in the spheres of administration,psychology, gender, extremism, internet and society and democracy, with cutting edge think tank expertise in identifying and tackling online extremism and strong links to pro-democracy civil society across Europe. The consortium also combines complementary knowhow in the areas of skills, countries, insights and languages, as well as strong links to key infrastructure, resources and stakeholders.
